Complex strengthening and redevelopment. Specialist project management for technically difficult projects. Practical delivery in collaboration with your team.
Founder and director William Broadmore has twenty one years’ experience in the construction industry.
Prior to founding Maguire Construction Will worked as development manager and project manager for Maurice Clark/McKee Fehl Constructors on complex CBD projects such as Press Hall (80 Willis St), the 390 room Katherine Jermyn Hall at 100 Boulcott St, and the $15m Singapore High Commission in Khandallah amongst many others. During a three year stint in London, Will worked on projects circa 150mGBP such as the Kings Cross/St Pancras Eurostar rail station, and the 60,000sqm St Botolph’s building within the square mile of London.
Since founding Maguire, we have carried out a range of complex heritage developments. I have also worked in a consulting capacity as a Project Director for Egmont Dixon, a role with overall responsibility for the delivery of design and consenting on major projects.
This varied experience developed an ability to integrate the systems thinking required for major project delivery, with detailed constructability understanding gained on smaller NZ projects.
I take pride in my practical problem solving abilities, matched with strong commercial and project management experience, which leads to efficient, coordinated design and execution of projects most consider highly complex.
We take our name from the company’s first project; the restoration of the historic Maguire’s building at 168 Cuba St. The building was named after the successful contractor and developer Allen Maguire who commissioned and built the building in 1901. Little is known of Maguire beyond the projects his company delivered, but we felt strong alignment with the values embedded in this particularly beautiful building by the original Maguire, and so the name stuck.
